Playing SCOOT with Task Cards

Playing SCOOT with Task Cards

Soon after starting to use task cards with my students, I began looking for other ways to use them. I came across SCOOT and it was soon a favorite with my students. It is a pretty simple way to review a skill and get your students up and moving.

Every student got a recording sheet on their desk as well as one task card. If I had more cards than students, then I would place them around the room for students to rotate to.

Students solved the problem on the card and waited until I said SCOOT, then moved to the next desk.

Play continued until we went through all the cards, or we ran out of time. We would pick up the game the next day, or just end it where we were.

If you want to try this in your classroom, click below to find some task cards in my TpT store.

  1. Thanks for this article. I liked reading about all the things you don't like! I will be sure not to do any of them! I also like how you use task cards to play games. What a great idea to make learning fun! Thanks so much!
